Jackie Watkins3. January, 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. UPDATE Jan 2025 After my amazing experience in 2023 I asked Miremby to organise a month long trip for my 60th birthday with family and friends and they did not disappoint. After a visit to Andasibe to see Indri We travelled from the west coast to the east and then down to Fort Dauphin. We experience dry spiney forest, lush canyons in Isalo NP, saw rare lemurs at Ranomafana NP and explored the Pangalanes canal and river crossings of the remote south east coast. True to their word Miremby always put conservation and community at the centre of the trip - we visited community reserves in Ifaty and on the RN7 - visited a Tanala village in Ranomafana to learn about how the setting up of the national park impacted their lives, had an amazing home stay where we saw local breakfast donuts being made, shared food with a family and visited the school to donate copy books for students. In Fort Dauphin Miremby worked with a local provider to organise a beach picnic employing local fishermen to cook for us so they can earn more from their catch. We also visited a local silversmith to see how he makes traditional silver bracelets and earrings. Their business is making a real difference to the communities they visit with clients and the trip was a positive and uplifting experience for us. The accommodation we had was carefully chosen and was always comfortable and often luxurious (Isalo Rock Lodge and Mantadia Lodge). A few touch elevated the trip. We all received a high quality insulated water bottle and water was available on the 4x4 to fill up as often as we needed avoiding us buying plastic water bottles and keeping us hydrated! We also were gifted a large tote to keep essentials handy in trips. Rama the driver was exceptional and put our comfort first at all times making long drives bearable. A mix of time travel, nature immersion, cultural exchange and photographers paradise. I'll definitely be back! First trip 2023 I took a 3 week trip in April 2023 with Miremby and can wholeheartedly recommend travelling with them. They are wildlife specialist and the wildlife I saw with them was extraordinary - I saw more with them in St Luce than in the much more well known Ranomafana NP. Three lemur species, chameleons, frogs, birds, and flying fox! The people they introduced me to were warm and the community vibrant. I wove mahampy mats, met fishermen and women and ate lobster fresh from the sea and paddle a canoe through mangroves, all activities organised by Miremby that you don't find with other large tour companies. As a keen photographer I was in heaven, wildlife, amazing palms, mountains, wetlands village life and skies so clear at night that even I could photograph the stars. Tsiraiky found amazing view points, has relationships that allowed me to photograph people respectfully and got me close enough to wildlife to take photos without impacting their safety. Tsiraiky knows everyone here and is your introduction to community and ecosystems rarely open to tourist anywhere in the world today. 100% recommend Richard Williams29. December, 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a fabulous trip to southern Madagascar with Miremby in December 2024. The tour ranged across a wide variety of habitats and landscapes, from rainforest to dry spiny forest to the stunning rocky outcrops and lush canyons of Isola Park. Our local guides had an uncanny ability to spot wildlife, so we had the privilege of seeing many animals and plant species that are unique to this magical island. MIremby prides itself on being community led and I loved that they took us to wildlife parks owned by the local community. A trip to a fishing village gave a fascinating insight into the daily lives of people who make a living from cultivating seaweed. All this while staying at a carefully curated selection of hotels, some of them world class. A superb tour and fantastic value Linda van Duivenbode28. October, 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We travelled with Miremby from 2-16 October 2024 in Fort Dauphin, Nahampoana, St Luce, Berenty and Lac Anony. It was a great trip that combined beautiful sceneries (beaches, lakes, forests), great community experiences (cooking of moofs, silver smith, dress making, mahampy weaving) and relaxing by the pool or on the beach. Everything I could have imagined and so much more! Sainte Luce gave us simply amazing experiences. Walking through the forest finding lemurs, rare birds, and plants. Taking a pirogue trip through the channels to a deserted white sand beach. Sitting in the local bar watching life unfold around us. The wildlife in Barenty was breathtaking and the market in FD eye-opening. So, the flora and fauna were amazing, the landscapes and views staggering, and the sunsets spectacular. But what really made this holiday stand out were 2 things. The ethos of Miremby, a genuine understanding and feeling for the communities they work with. And our guide Tsiraiky whose exceptional guiding skills, wildlife expertise, knowledge of the history and cultures of the people, and his very genuine friendship with seemingly anyone we met, made this so special. Thank you so much Miremby! Hannah Watkins4. September, 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had a great week long stay in and around Fort Dauphin with Miremby! The activities were enjoyable and interesting (with some great sightings of lemurs!) and the hotels were of a really high quality. Everything was communicated well and they had a clear knowledge and care for the local community. Would highly recommend both the region and the company! freek kamerman2. September, 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We booked a 2-week-long road trip through Madagascar with Miremby and it was everything that we had dreamed off. In these 2 weeks they offered us the perfect balance between adventurous activities and scenic relaxation. We all really loved the "community led tours" aspect of the agency. In my opinion, this aspect really made for an experience that is impossible to book with any other agency. Because besides getting to see all the beautiful nature / landscapes, we also got a look into the country's culture and the lifestyles of the local people, which really added so much more value to the tour.Google rating score: 5.0 of 5, based on 6 reviews
